The BikeEd Hawaii bicycle education program, which is run by the Hawaii Bicycling League is a nationally recognized program . BikeEd teaches on-road bicycle safety classes to fourth grade students on Oahu. We are fortunate to have them here at Jefferson Elementary School this year. It meets the school's benchmarks in Health and Physical Education. Bike Ed teaches safety principles in a fun format that enables our keiki to develop a lifelong healthy lifestyle. The program is funded by the City and County of Honolulu Department of Transportation and includes 3 days of on campus instruction and 2 days of off-campus riding.
