Connecting With Our Aina

On Tuesday, August 02, 2022, JES faculty and staff had our first "Waiver Day". We made the trek to Ka Papa Loi O Kanewai. We learned about the importance of "wai" or water, about Manoa stream and its significance, and we learned how to work the land. We were able to add leaves to one of the loi and were able to remove weeds from several other loi. The day was spent "connecting to our aina" and to mentally prepare our minds for the return of students to our school, beginning tomorrow morning.
